Verlander trade offer

Postby Surfs up » Sat Apr 25, 2009 10:03 pm

I was just offered Brad Ziegler and Nate McCouth for Travis Snider and Justin Verlander. 5x5 keeper . I traded Brian Wilson for Ted Lilly and I am down to Soria as my only closer. Snider is gong to be a good one but isn't getting at bats against lefties. Thoughts?

I think Verlander's going to get things under control, and start pitching like he did, 2 years ago. I'd be hesitant to trade him away. But since you need a closer, and McClouth is an upgrade over Snider IMO, I don't think it's a bad trade for you.

I am here in Michigan and Verlander is one of my favorite Tigers. I would like to say that I think he can get it going, but I dont know if i see it happening or not. I think its a decent trade for you and I cant tell you whether not to hold on to Verlander, but this should be a pretty solid deal for you.

I gave up Liriano as part of a deal and got Verlander in return. I really thought he would turn things around. He seems to always have one very bad inning. I like Snide alot as well but he i platooning. Bautisa is hitting well so they keep playing him against lefties.I'm really torn on this deal. McCouth isn't doing much but is playing full time. And I do need a closer withSoria possibly out longer then just this weekend.
