Hey all,

My Keeper League team is posted below, 5x5 categories, 10 teams in the league:

C-Bengie Molina
1B-Ryan Howard
2B-Dan Uggla
SS-Jose Reyes
3B-Pablo Sandoval (1B/3B eligible)
OF-Magglio Ordonez
OF-Curtis Granderson
OF-Jacoby Ellsbury
OF-Johnny Damon
OF-Andre Eithier
UTL-Miguel Cabrera (only 1B eligible)
UTL-Mark Reynolds (3b eligible)
DL-Alex Gordon

P-CC Sabathia
P-Ryan Dempster
P-Justin Verlander
P-Gil Meche
P-Mark Buehrle
P-Andy Sonnanstine
P-Wandy Rodriguez
P-Francisco Rodriguez
P-Joakim Soria
BN-Armando Galarraga
BN-Randy Wolf
DL-John Lackey

Prospect-Carlos Carasco
Prospect-David Price
Prospect-Matt Wieters
Prospect-Dexter Fowler
Prospect-Brett Anderson
Prospect-Pedro Alvarez

On paper, my team looks good, but I am struggling so far:

Runs: I have 116, best team has 123
Homeruns: I have 34, best team has 38
RBIs: I have 119, best team has 126
SBs: I have 19, best team has 23
BA: I'm at .282, best team is at .301

K: I have 185, best team has 195
W: I have 7, best team has 14 :-o
Sv: I have 9, best team has 19 :-o
ERA: I have 4.77, best team has 3.66 :-o
WHIP: I have 1.392, best team has 1.168

I was just wondering if I should make any moves, or stick with what I have for now. If I should make a trade, who should I try to get?

Post your link, and I'll DEFINITELY help you in return! I PROMISE! Thanks!

I would try to trade either Cabrera or Howard, as crazy as it may seem. You could use upgrade at starting 3B. So i would try for stud 3B and an average to slighty above player to put at your UTIL.

Thanks for your help, but given that this is a Keeper League, I would disagree with that. If I were to move a hitter, I'd lean to Magglio Ordonez.

I think I would sit tight yet. You don't look that bad and pitching has a tendency to come around as we progress...plus you have Lackey coming back. I agree if you trade though, it would be Magglio for a pitcher maybe

No worries with your hitters. Your pitching might be a little suspect for a 10 team league. I would definitely try and trade for another SP. Maggs should notch you a solid SP.

Thanks. The main things that are hurting me are:

Pablo Sandoval has 0 HR and 1 RBI
Magglio Ordonez FINALLY hit his first HR today, but isn't hitting for a whole lot of power
CC is struggling, as he usually does in April
My closers haven't gotten a lot of save opps of late - with Soria and Krod, I hoped to be doing a lot better with saves
Justin Verlander is too hard to predict
I've gotten unlucky with a lot of games that my pitchers could have won but the bullpen blew it, but so it goes...

I agree your 3B is a little weak. Maybe package up Sandoval and Maggs and go out and get a better 3B? Or move Reynolds up to that 3B spot and shop Maggs and Sandoval for a new OF. Your team will hit sooner or later, its a good squad. Just be a little patient with the rest of the team, but hold on to Howard and Miggy for sure.

I think your pitching is suspect for a 10 team league. I would try to upgrade there. Like prior posts have said, I would not trade Miggy in a keeper league. Mags is definitely replaceable.

I agree that Mags is replaceable, but the odds of getting a decent deal out of it is slim....His worth is down the drain right now, I think. If you can get a good SP for him, I would do it.

Dealing Howard may not be a bad option. To get great players, you have to deal great players. MCab should not be dealt in a keeper.

You would probably be able to deal Howard for Davis and a good SP. Davis is probably going to put similar stats to Howard in the long run, and a solid SP would bolster your staff tremendously. Don't know if Davis is eligible at both 1B and 3B in your league, but you could at least plug him into a UTIL spot. I think that would be a good deal if you could swing it...
