He's got close to a .400 OBP last year and has started off fine this year, and he's batting at the top of what should be a potent lineup. I'm not sure if it's permanent, as it may go back to Soriano leading off once Bradley comes back. This would make Theriot something like a .300/110 runs/25 steals guy at SS, which would make him at least near the middle ground in shortstops, correct?
Of course, this is all moot if Pinella moves the lineup back to a subpar configuration.
I'm not sure that I'm buying him as a .300 hitter and he is a terrible baserunner so not sure I'm buying the 25 SB, he'll probably run less this year rather than more.

I agree that he's not a great baserunner; however, aside from the 9 games he played in '05, he batted .328 in '06, .307 in '08, and is sitting at .333 right now...

I'm saying he was bad even back in 05 and 06, he has never been a good baserunner and he has never gotten good jumps. I watch a lot of Cubs games and he just isn't a good baserunner. He has some natural speed which lets him get some steals and helps his BABIP to keep his AVG up but he just isn't a natural on the base pads.
