Kaz and Wandy for Grandy and A Hill? WHIR

Postby ajk816 » Sat Apr 25, 2009 8:52 am

I have a plethora of OF and was just offered this trade: Kazmir and Wandy for Granderson and A Hill. Trying to sell high on Hill and I want to get rid of an OF for SP, so this seems good to me but I'd like other input. 10 team H2H (HR, R, RBI, SB, OBP + W, S, K, WHIP, ERA) My current squad is:

Active Batters
Iannetta, Chris C COL
Pena, Carlos 1B TB
Kinsler, Ian 2B TEX
Ramirez, Aramis 3B CHC
Tulowitzki, Troy SS COL
Braun, Ryan J. OF MIL
Cruz, Nelson R. OF TEX
Granderson, Curtis OF DET
Hill, Aaron U TOR

Active Pitchers
Meche, Gil SP KC
Peavy, Jake SP SD
Shields, James SP TB
Qualls, Chad RP ARI
Rodney, Fernando RP DET

Reserve Batters
Shoppach, Kelly C CLE
Jackson, Conor 1B ARI
Bruce, Jay OF CIN
Jones, Adam OF BAL
Snider, Travis OF TOR
Young, Chris B. OF ARI
Rios, Alex OF TOR
Span, Denard OF MIN

Reserve Pitchers
Davies, Kyle SP KC
Parra, Manny SP MIL
Franklin, Ryan RP STL
Downs, Scott RP TOR

Injured Pitchers
Ryan, B.J. RP TOR
Santana, Ervin SP ANA

Looks like we have very similar teams. You will lose a little of current production, but you have very capable hitters on the bench that will come around (Bruce, Rios, Jones). I would probably do it, but just remember, you will not have a back-up 2nd anymore. Have you checked to see who had Alexi Ramirez to see if you could trade for him to back both positions? Kaz had a gem last night and got me 24 points.

i like who you are giving up more than who you are getting. But i see your logic in selling high on hill (though im super high on him this year)

I'm not entirely sold on wandy and im not a big kazmir fan, but i'd probably do the deal.

Not sure how much production I'd lose as I've only had Hill for a week, and Granderson is easily replaceable by Jones, Rios or Jones. Granderson isn't doing me any favors in OBP and my pitching has struggled so far. I think Hill regresses and Kaz looked great last night....

I like the deal of selling high on Hill. I also have hill and plan on using him as trade bait. I think you did just fine overall.

Help?

Any trade that won't hurt you, and might help you should be looked at. But I'll tell ya, that if the other guy is only missing a couple of offensive pieces that puts him on top of you it could be a dangerous move. I like the deal, as long as it doesn't make the other guy a contender.

Its a decent deal. You have some solid OF options waiting in the wings and Kaz is a very nice add for your rotation.

Thanks for the help...

This one depends what you need. I think its a fair trade, but if you need the arms, I'd go for it. Your offense doesn't lose much and I am not sold on Hill.

@ayebatter

The guy that would be getting Grandy and Hill has:
McCann
A Gonzalez
DeRosa
Hanley
Figgins
Holliday
Quentin
Ichiro
Cantu

Take out Kaz and his starters would be Gallardo, Greinke, Harang and Garza.
