Vladimir Guerrero - Deal him? or hold onto?

Postby mdgoalie » Fri Apr 24, 2009 9:25 pm

I picked this guy up off waivers because I had an empty DL spot, knowing that someone in my league with a lower waiver position wanted him. I figured it would be an easy way for me to acquire assets without giving up anyone on my team. But do any of you guys think I should keep this guy and hope for a resurgence in the second half? Or should I go ahead and just deal him for some lesser pieces and get whatever I can?

8 Team H2H - HR, R, RBI, SB, TB, OBP x W, K, ERA, WHIP, Saves, QS

My Team - everyone listed that is not on the bench is in a starters spot
C: Sandoval
1B: Pujols
2B: Utley
SS: JHardy
3B: CDavis
MI: Hill
CI: Dunn
OF: Kemp, Holliday, Ellsbury, Abreu, Ethier, Dukes
Util: Hafner, Bruce
SP: Lincecum, Halladay, Gallardo, Greinke, Vazquez, Maholm
RP: Broxton, FFrancisco, Hoffman

Bench: Cantu, Stewart, Bonifacio, ______
DL: Guerrero, Carpenter

Thanks ;-D

It looks like your SP is rock solid. I would keep him and see what he does in a month. he'll have greater value when he is playing again than he does now.

The latest diagnosis on Guerrero hasn't been good, and in your shallow league, Guerrero is a borderline hold. Vlad doesn't have a lot of value right now. What kinds of outfielders are available on your waiver wire?

heres the OF, but I wasn't planning on holding him originally, I was planning on dealing him to someone I know will trade for him, I think I can actually get relatively good value for him, but I wasn't sure how well people thought he would do when he got back

Example: Guerrero and Maholm for JJohnson and garbage

matsui
maybin
burrell
cjackson
fukudome
snider
byrd
murphy
rasmus
fowler
hairston
church
bradley

But the guy that wants him has josh johnson who looks like he's turning into an ace right before our eyes, I know he wants guerrero pretty bad, so if I can convince him that its just early season luck, I might be able to trade for him now (before he blows up even more and I will have no shot of getting him)
