Soria out this weekend, at least (4/24)

Postby RRGL1 » Fri Apr 24, 2009 6:01 pm

Royals closer Joakim Soria will miss at least this weekend's series against the Tigers with a sore shoulder, though an MRI revealed no structural damage.
"There is no structural damage," manager Trey Hillman said. "He's on special medication, and he's doing some exercises." The Royals say they don't plan to put him on the disabled list. Juan Cruz and Kyle Farnsworth will likely get save chances in Soria's absence, so grab Cruz for saves, Farnsworth for blown saves.

Geez, I hope that Soria's fine AFTER this weekend. I can live without him for the next few days - I'm up 5-0 in saves in my H2H league - but will struggle for saves without him next week!

Sounds like Soria is feeling healthy again, and will be available this weekend. Is Cruz still a necessary handcuff for Soria owners?

unless your league counts holds or is big enough to carry RP to help with ERA, WHIP cats or even K/9 then i say no, Soria has had what 8 days off now and ESPN updates on him say that hes "Ready to close again"... so like i say unless you have Holds as a cat or your league is big enough to carry RP to help out your starters then i say Cruz is safe to cut loose...
