Buying low on Rollins - is this enough?

Postby the izzy » Fri Apr 24, 2009 2:06 pm

In a 10 team H2H, redraft league, I offered B. Abreu, S. Drew and H. Bell, but was rejected. Changed my offer to Abreu, A. Gonzalez and S. Drew and was rejected again.

I guess the owner is content on losing. He's starting Hairston in the OF (everyday) and Konerko at 1B (everyday).

Should I up my offer to something better, or just forget about it? I'm in 1st place w/ a pretty good roster IMO.

My team:
C: Sandoval
1B: A. Gonzalez
2B: C. Utley
3B: Miguel Cabrera (1B/3B)
SS: S. Drew
OF: R. Ludwick
OF: M. Ramirez
OF: N. Cruz
UTIL: Ortiz
BN: C. Davis (1B/3B), Abreu (OF), M. Wieters (C - NA)
DL: Alex Rodriquez

SP: Felix
SP: Harang
RP: Qualls
RP: Francisco
P: H. Bell
P: B. Morrow
P: J. Valverde
BN: J. Vazquez (SP), E. Bedard (SP), Y. Gallardo (SP), M. Scherzer (SP/RP)

As you can see, I'm holding one too many OF. I often bench Ortiz and start Abreu.

His team:
C: Posada
1B: Konerko
2B: Hill
3B: Atkins (1b/3b)
SS: Rollins
OF: Granderson
OF: Bruce
OF: Hairston
UTIL: Delgado (1b)
BN: Bradley (OF), Iannetta (c), Phillips (2B), Mora (3B - DL)

SP: Halladay
SP: A. Wainwright
RP: Soria
RP: Soriano
P: T. Lilly
P: Cueto
P: Arroyo
BN: Pettitte, Webb, Lackey

as you can see, he needs help at OF, RP and 1B IMO. Only thing I'm hurting for is Runs and SB.

Wow I think you offered too much.... If I received Abreu, Adrian Gonzalez and Stephen Drew for Rollins I would do it in a heartbeat

Yeah, like I just posted in another JRoll thread ... that's a fantastic offer. Too bad, because if there's a weakness in your lineup, it's that you're a little short on speed. But I think you just move on at this point. Your team is awfully good without Rollins, and it will be even better when ARod and Weiters start playing.

Yeah I'm actually trying to do the same but not willing to give up quite as much as u however. Like the last post said ur only real weakness is speed which u could help solve in house by getting
Abreu off the bench. In case the world isn't paying attention he is running all over the place in Anaheim 8 for 8 in steals. The Angels manufacture runs far more then the Yankees so this trend should continue. 2 much to give for Rollins, stand pat. Can u please take a look at my Rollins trade?
