Kerry Wood for Nate McClouth, whir

Postby cdawg4343 » Fri Apr 24, 2009 1:50 pm

I've been offered McClouth for Kerry Wood, would you guys do this? 14team H2H 5x5 nonkeeper league.
My team:
c. Soto
1b. Howard
2b. Phillips
3b. Reynolds
ss. Jeter
lf. Either
rf. Markakis
cf. Bruce
utl. Holliday
b. Wood, Weeks
sp. Sabathia, Billingsley, Felix, Dice-k, Maine, Masterson, Sanchez, Hill
rp. Rivera, Wood, Corpas, Motte, Perez, Zumaya

If I did this I could flip one of my outfielders for another closer or something else. If i did flip an outfielder for another closer, which one and for which closer? Or should I target someone else or just stay pat?

Thanks in advance

Ya I too like this trade for you..... Wood will get hurt sometime anyways I think and Mclouth has shown he is pretty reliable... I like your idea of flipping an OF for another closer too...

Help with mine?

Which outfielder should I look to flip? I lean towards Bruce. And what kind of closer could I expect to receive back in return?

Yeah, give Bruce a flip for a 2nd tier closer...someone who will net 30 saves, but isn't a household name. Look at Heath Bell or Chad Qualls maybe.

I have always felt that closers are like kickers in fantasy football. Depends on the offense, team whether they will get a lot of saves or not, not necessarily the guy. I would take that McClouth deal in a heartbeat and I would not trade a stud OF for a closer, you can find other ways to obtain a closer than to trade away a guy like Bruce.

Well what do I do with Bruce. He's the odd man out. Who should I look to deal him for or do you see any other players I could combine with him to get something bigger in return?

McLouth is an absolute steal for Wood. You gotta take that one!
