Kyle Lohse: "I Heard a Pop In My Knee"

Postby JTWood » Fri Apr 24, 2009 9:37 am

Twisted his ankle yesterday, but he's getting an MRI on his knee because of a pop he heard. :-o :-o :-o

Uh-oh. The pitcher heard a pop in his knee when running to cover first base on a slow grounder, but had to stop quickly when Albert Pujols bobbled the ball. Lohse faced five more batters to finish the fifth inning and qualify for the win, his third of the season. Stay tuned.

I know...I hope it was nothing. My knee pops going up stairs sometimes and I am no worse for wear. I take it as a positive that he was left in to finish the inning and am hopeful that the MRI was just precautionary...

Didn't Gallardo stay in the game after his knee injury last year?

Just sayin'... :-X

Looks like Lohse is fine...

Cardinals RHP Kyle Lohse's MRI revealed no structural damage, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

His status will be determined later today, but it appears he will avoid the disabled list. At worst, he many have his next start skipped or pushed back. If so, P.J. Walters or Brad Thompson would be the likely replacement.

Fixed. I'd wear a NYY avatar for a month if the Brewers finish ahead of STL in the standings this year.
