you have nothing to lose by trying but it won't be enough methinks, especially in a 14-team keeper

You have nothing to lose by offering deal, but IMO you don't need Peavy. This might hurt your starting lineup a bit more than it would help. Posada can easily hold the job down until Iannetta starts hitting better.

Besides your a little thin at RP. Corpas might lose his job soon to Street or some flavor you never know. Hoff is coming back this weekend but what does he have left to offer you? You have a very solid pitching staff as it is when Hamels gets it going it will be tough to beat.

That being said if you CAN do this deal, I'd still do it anyway. :-)

Plus I could unload some of my pitchers to team that needs pitching really bad for some quality keepers (batters or RP) if need be later in the season.

Does anyone agree that I can afford to get rid of Cordero?
