Trade for Lackey *WHIR*

Postby michaelyoung4prez » Thu Apr 23, 2009 11:05 pm

I know this guy needs to make a deal for pitching so he doesn't sink any further in the standings.

Deal I am proposing:

Maholm/Volquez/Valverde for Lackey/Lidge?

I would then throw Lackey on the DL for a bit and grab either Edwin Jackson, Wandy Rod, Washburn, Davies, Voldstad.

Thoughts please and leave a link ;-D

His pitching: Oswalt, Dempster, Morrow, Lackey, Lidge

not too crazy about this one. maholm and valverde are going to be good for you, and they're both under the radar types of players. volquez, you might be able to do without. the problem is trading for lackey - injured - and lidge - shaky. i dont really see you upgrading much except maybe for the win differential between the angels and the pirates.

i would pick up wandy for volquez though -- lots of good things to be had there. ;-D

Thanks for the thoughts. I agree that parting with Maholm is probably a bad idea but I was just thinking that I could do a 2 solid for 1 stud trade since there are pitchers like Wandy on waivers.

Not sure I want to drop Volquez for him. Are there any pitchers I could go after with a 2 for 1 involving Maholm, Young, and Volquez?

Thanks, leave a link ;-D

I don't really like Maholm, but that's just my take. But that doesn't mean I'd go for it, because i worry about Lackey this year too.

No matter what, pick up Wandy quick.

Help if you can:

So should I drop Volquez or wait until he pitches tonight and see how he does, kind of like tonight is a last chance try out

I wouldn't do this trade. You never know how Lackey will respond after being hurt. I would pick up wandy though.
help me out?

Yes I get that I should add Wandy but I don't have an extra spot for him. Drop Volquez? Young?
