If you have nobody else to play 3rd, i'd have to pick up Lowell.
But if you have ANYONE that's expendable, you gotta pick up BW since it's a dynasty. He might not get playing time in the near future, but they certainly can't keep him down in the minors or on the bench forever.

I think the obvious choice here is Lowell. Even if it's a keeper I doubt Wood would be one of your top guys... now if there's more specific detail about you retaining all of your guys or a large number then Wood becomes an option. But for this season Lowell is the far better play.

Since you are asking about a BACKUP, I would take Wood, assuming you are satisfied with your current starter.

I totally disagree. What has Wood done in the majors? He has had chances to prove is the STUD is suppose to be and fails. I beleive he is nothing more then an AAAA player. I think you go with the proven hitter in Lowell. And it isn't even close.

Thank you for all the posts - I currently have Ryan Zimmerman, which isn't saying much - but definitely a platoon would be in order...
Thanks again

I would take Lowell...take the player who will help you now, instead of the player who might help you a couple years down the road
