Ryan Howard Trade

Postby Papelbon Fire » Thu Apr 23, 2009 5:16 pm

Need some input on a trade that was proposed to me. I asked my league if someone would be interested in a trade for one of my top tier players, either Howard or Utley. The main reason I'm doing this is to get some variety in my line up since I currently have 3 of the Phillies starting 8 fielders. Here's my team, Yahoo Mixed 12 Team 5x5 (R,H,HR,AVG,SB;W,K,SV,WHIP,ERA)

C-Buck,Wieters
1B-Loney, Howard
2B-Utley
SS-Barlett,A. Ramirez (CHW)
3B-Beltre
OF-Burrell,Hunter,Werth,Granderson

SP-Halladay,Lester,Dice-K,Washburn,Floyd,Jimenez,Price,Masterson,Kawakami
RP-Wilson

So Here are the trades that have been proposed to me:
MY Howard for HIS Texeira

or

MY Howard, Utley, and Kawakami
for
HIS Pujols, Weeks, and Maine
(This trade I am very opposed to, but could restructure if he incorporated Lincecum instead of Maine)

Thoughts??

I like Howard more than Tex, and as for #2, I agree with what you said: I would accept his offer but would if he included Lincecum.

I don't know how to post a link...but can you help with mine (recent post Morneau/Kershaw for Ludwick/Wainwright). Thanks.

Well to make a fully educated decision I'd have to see the rest of your line-up, but to give you some insight, the injury factor for Wainwright worries me, but Kershaw has not yet proven himself in the big's so I'd take wainwright over Kershaw, however Kershaw will generally pitch against NL West teams for the majority of his starts which is a lot, not as bad as in the past, but a lot weaker than the NL Central. As for your position player swap, Ludwick is solid and performing but I like Morneau a lot better especially once Mauer is back in the line up for some padding.

To post a link, just go to the topic you started and copy the url and then just paste it in your reply.

Thanks again for help...the problem is partially hidden (don't ask) - so that must be part of what I can't read.
