On the wake of BJ Ryan's latest melt-down, Im thinking he's done for shortly. His velocity is down and hes pitching with zero confidence.
Ive rostered Scott Downs everywhere possible based on not only his pitching ability, but being the logical successor to BJ. However, earlier today, Ive heard rumblings that Jason Frasor might be the "defacto" new closer as Downs is best suited for the 8th inning roll..
I play in a very competitive 12 team mixed, non-keeper, 6 * 6 league and we count the following pitching stats: (K's, Wins, ERA, WHIP, Holds, Saves).
I'm a sucker for the "next closer" or solid set-up men and my league's wire moves very quickly and most of the solid Middle Relievers are gone. By way of example, Ive already got Chris Ray, Chris Perez on bench and just snagged Frasor in case.
Anyone have any insight here?
Thanks,
