Trade for Miggy...and Sacrifice Saves? WHIR

Postby jmcampbe11 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 9:51 am

I'm considering the following two trades. Let me know your thoughts.

TRADE 1 -
GIVE - Hamilton/A.Gonzalez/Qualls (or Morrow)
GET - M.Cabrera/Markakis

TRADE 2
GIVE - Hamilton/Percival
GET - M.Cabrera

BACKGROUND INFO
This is a 10 team roto league, in which we keep 3 players each season. Right now my three keepers would be Sizemore, Hamilton, and Longoria

I currently have four closers (Broxton, Qualls, Morrow, Percival). I also own Ray, who will hopefully one day take over for Sherrill.

I like Trade 2. Do not do trade 1, you are giving up too much. Hold on to your solid closers for trade bait down the stretch. What is your roster.

Anyone else? Keep in mind the key questions to ask are -

1) Can I afford to trade a closer and still be competitives in saves
2) Does landing Cabrera short-term and long-term (he'd replace Hamilton as one of my keepers) make it worth it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can sacrifice saves definately. 2 closers is competing, 3 closers is a luxury . . . 4 = trade one. Miggy offers about the same keeper value as Hamilton . . .

Since you have 4 closers your not really sacrificing saves... but out of those two deals I think the first 1 is an absolute steal.

I love Hamilton and A. Gon, but I think your getting the best and 3rd best (Markakis) players out of the deal... I would take that and run.
