Phillips/Maholm for Pedroia?

Postby hett2333 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 7:38 am

I'm in a 12 team mixed h2h points league...my pitching is pretty deep and I just don't feel confident Phillips will ever produce like he did in 07. Even though I feel I'm over paying, I think in a points league there is a more than slight difference between Pedrioa and Phillips which makes this deal improve my team.

Here's my staff, I start 8: Halladay, Haren, James Shields, Gallardo, Broxton, Morrow, Slowey, Baker (who I'm worried about), Maholm, Anibal Sanchez, Masterson, and Porcello.

I don't think you're overpaying. I'd be a nervous Phillips owner too and I think you're selling high on Maholm. Go for it.

I would do this deal in a second. Pedroia is a stud. Phillips is steady and Maholm can collapse at any time

I would not hesitate to do this deal, but I would be suprised if the pedroia owner goes for it.

This is a good sell-high on Maholm. Phillips, even in a good year, hardly ever walks, so in a points league, I imagine that'd make a pretty big difference.

This trade is a no brainer for me.

Pedroia is an impact top 3 2b and Maholm is at best your 5th starter.

Do it! ;-D

Can you help with mine?
