Carlos Guillen worth a #2 waiver? whir

Postby Trebor » Wed Apr 22, 2009 11:18 pm

League setup & roster at bottom

is Carlos Guillen worth burning a #2 waiver on?

& who to drop Aviles or Galarraga?

Guillen is 1b/3b/of in my league and seems to be really picking it up lately.

A.Galarraga or M.Aviles would be on the chopping block.

Aviles - has been horrible...but Im not sold on TheRiot being startable at SS all year, and there is no SS available on waivers. seriously like im talking Az.Cabrera or B.Zobrist are best available. keep Aviles 2b/ss and i have backup for Kinsler & TheRiot (altho horrible backup right now).

A.Galarraga - dont need 5 SPs, only picked him up cause he double starts this week, but the lowly Angels bats hit him pretty good. but if im just being dumb here about Aviles and how he is obvious drop, plz let me know.

Guillen isnt bad at all. Hes batting 5th or 6th in a solid lineup and hes been a solid hitter in the past. Plus his multi-position eligibility is great to have, especially with Aviles having 2nd, SS then youll have Guillen with 1st, 3rd, n OF, so youll have utility guys to cover every position except Catcher. thats always solid!

I personally would not use the #2 on Guillen. It might be a gamble, but I'd hold on and wait for a possible hasty drop to pick up instead.
