Take a flier on Washburn? WHIR!

Postby dagactor » Wed Apr 22, 2009 4:41 pm

I kind wanna grab Jarrod Washburn and see if he turns into this year's Lee. Got two teams...let me know if you think I can swap him into either:

TEAM 1: Chris Young, Chris Volstad, Zack Greinke, Kevin Slowey, Jered Weaver, Randy Johnson, Wandy Rodríguez and DL Smoltz & Kuroda

TEAM 2: Matt Garza, Jon Lester, Ryan Dempster, Gil Meche, Clayton Kershaw, Yovani Gallardo, Tommy Hanson NA, DLs John Lackey, Kelvim Escobar

Thanks! WHIR!

No obvious candidate to drop, so I say drop a bench hitter or stand pat.

I agree if you have a bench hitter, drop him. Otherwise if you want to take a chance, drop Hanson on team 2 and stand pat on team 1.

good luck

I'm still not buying Washburn, and definitely wouldn't drop any pitcher on either team for him. I think Hanson is worth a stash over Washburn, as personally, if I added Washburn, I'd sit him for at least one more start before risking him reverting back to the garbage starter he's been in the past. If you really do have faith in him, you could always try to do a 2 for 1 with someone in either league to open up a roster spot. Usually tough to pull one off in most leagues I'm in, but if you know of a thin roster that could use the quantity over the quality, worth a flyer. Good luck. If you don't mind, I could use some help with mine. Thanks.
