12 - Villalona, Angel (0 Abs - 3B - SF)

I am debating replacing George Kottaras on my farm club. I like the kid, but with Salty and Suzuki already on board, I feel he is expendable. Do you think I could eek some trade value out of Kottaras?

I am still undecided on Anderson Hernandez (considering I have three other second basemen: Johnson, Hudson and Casilla), but would consider replacing him with a player with more upside. Casilla holds more long-term value compared to Hernandez, agreed? Casilla simply cannot hit LHP and appears bound for a platoon situation.

Are any of the prospects listed below worth a look? Would you drop Hernandez and/or Kottaras for that player?

Brian Anderson
Micah Hoffpauir
Josh Barfield
Adam Rosales
Jason Repko
Brandon Jones
Josh Whitesell
Chin-lung Hu
Will Venable
Matt Tolbert

Drop Anderson Hernandez pick up Micah Hoffpauir.

YOU HEARD IT FIRST HERE. (Insider Information)

Milton Bradley is in Lou Pinella's doghouse (and not because of the injury) and Lou is considering platooning Bradley with Hoffpauir in RF. With Hoffpauir starting against RHPs. :-X
I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!

In my opinion, Pinella likes Hoffpauir's versatility off the bench. He thinks of Micah as a super-utility man. I like Hoffpauir too, but I just don't see him getting enough ABs to provide enough production in a H2H league.

What about Jake Fox? Everything I've read about him says his bat is ready for the majors; he just doesn't have a clearcut defensive position. Josh Whitesell might be called up with Tony Clark potentially heading to the DL.

Also, I know I barely touched on him, but what are your thoughts on Kottaras?

I don't think Lou would put MIcah in the cleanup spot if he viewed him as a super utility man. Plus Hoffpauir has only played RF so far, so utility man is not an adjective for Hoffpauir. He may like his versatility off the bench, but as a former coach, you can't ignore the obvious. Hoffpauir is CRUSHING the ball if you've watched the Cubs games. Bradley is swinging like he's George Bell.(The Cubs version)

Josh Whitesell is an under the radar prospect IMO. He can flat out hit, he's currently 26, and there isn't too much blocking him at 1B anymore since Conor Jackson blows chunks and Tracy has 1 year left on his contract (7 mil option for 2010 with a 1 mil buyout). Could be the starting 1B later this year for the Diamondbacks, who knows. Chances are he's sitting on everyone's WW right now too. Could be a decent stash-away.
