Trade help

Postby wkpdpack » Tue Apr 21, 2009 9:56 pm

12 team keeper league, 5x5 roto scoring (keep 7 from year to year, plus up to 5 on minor league bench). This weekend I dealt Kinsler and Ad. Jones for Hamilton, S. Drew and Hart and then dealt minor leaguer Smoak for Blalock and Hanrahan. I'm currently running 2nd. I definitely feel like my team has a chance to compete for the money this year.

Now the offer on the table is my Hamilton, Aviles and Hanrahan for their Al. Ramirez and Lind. Would you make that trade? I'm thinking not. Giving up Hamilton seems like a bit much plus I'd be selling him low. Don't really want to deal Hamilton now, but would consider a lesser deal. Any ideas what I might offer this guy to help my team push to the top?

My team:
C Navarro, Snyder
1B Howard
2B Aviles
3B Blalock (Gordon on DL)
SS Furcal
MI S. Drew
CI Morneau
OF Hamilton, Braun, Kemp, Granderson, Hart
U Fukudome
P Bell, Billingsley, Blanton (Kuroda on DL), Greinke, C. Lee, Millwood (Baker on DL), Percival, KRod, Scherzer
Bench: Ad. LaRoche, Greene, Hanrahan
Minors: Milledge, Rasmus, Fowler, I. Stewart, G. Sanchez (can remain on minor league bench as long as I want to keep them there even though they might be in majors, but once I bring them up they stay on major bench unless they are sent back to the minors.)

His team:
C Flores, Martin
1B C. Duncan
2B Cano
3B Youkilis
SS O. Cabrera
MI Al. Ramirez
CI Swisher
OF Burrell, Cust, Hawpe, Kubel, N. Morgan
U Thome
P F. Francisco, Jenks, Liriano, Purcey (Bonderman on DL), Rodney, J. Sanchez (Dice-K on DL), Volquez, Volstad, C. Young
Bench: Gomez, Lind, Cueto
Minors: Stanton, Ka aihue, Carrasco, Ad. Miller, Hill

I'm liking the first 2 deals you did....but there's no chance I'd do this. I would think the freight on a struggling alexei ramirez would be much much less....like, just drew and a closer, if thats what he was after.

yikes on dealing kinsler, but you did get good value for him. i would absolutely not trade hamilton for lind and alexei. you just traded kinsler for him... keep him.

thanks for helping me.

No, don't do that deal.

While I love Lind, the jury is still out on Alexi Ramirez. You're team is tight on closers, so every save Hanrahan gets will help you.

Actually, I'd like to deal Hanrahan. I've got Bell, KRod and Percival for saves. I realize Percival is an injury risk and may not have the job all year, but I don't feel Hanrahan will get me that many saves that I want to use one of my three bench spots for him.

I'd stand pat if I were you. You've got a really good team for this year.
