Mauer dropped. Grab him? WHIR!!!

Postby woowoo crew » Tue Apr 21, 2009 9:11 pm

I have Brian McCann as my starter. I also have Chris Iannetta on the bench, and Pablo Sandoval who is eligible for 1B, 3B, and C in my league.

Would you drop Iannetta to pick up Mauer, who clears waivers tomorrow? I doubt I'll get him, as I'm last on waivers in a 10 team league. Just wanting to find out if it's worth grabbing him if I can for potential trade bait later.

My team:
C: McCann
1B: Votto
2B: Aaron Hill
3B: Aramis Ramirez
SS: Stephen Drew
IF: Sandoval
OF: Soriano, Sizemore, Bruce, Cruz
UTIL: Francouer
Bench: Alexei Ramirez, Iannetta, Daniel Murphy
SP: Volquez, Vazquez, Garza, Slowey, Lilly
RP: Broxton, Fuentes, Francisco, Scherzer
Bench: Cain
C: McCann
1B: Konerko
2B: Cano
SS: Reyes
3B: Freese
IF: Encarnacion
OF: Ethier, Jennings, Willingham, Quentin
UTIL: Freeman
BN: De Aza, Pagan, Aviles
DL: Ellsbury
P: Felix, Price, Buchholz, Lynne, J. Johnson, Wandy, Valverde, Jansen, Chapman, Betancourt

You have no chance really, but it can't hurt to try... You'd be laughing if you got him....excellent trade bait for something good.

help with mine?

I would definitely do this move. Someone dropped him in my league as well and a #1 waiver was used on him.

You gotta try. I used my #1 waiver on the guy just two days ago.

agreed. what kind of league is this. i would try to move mccann, because he has higher trade value and your other options are more than serviceable.

Absolutely...no need to think twice on that one. Mauer is a top 3 catcher. Iannetta is struggling again this year.
