Offensive Help! WHIR!!

Postby Darth Danielus » Tue Apr 21, 2009 8:51 pm

These are some of the best FA guys available in my 10 team, 6x6 roto keeper....

fukadome
cameron
endy chavez
konerko
hafner
I. stewert
hermida
j. upton
bradley
asdrubal cabrera
kubel
b. wood
reynolds
cust

Any of these guys make sense for me in either the short or long term? I'm worried my patience with some of my guys is gonna cost me the next big out-of-nowhere fantasy guy. Here's my team as of now... (who should I drop -- leaning toward baker, eventually street, and if he don't turn it around soon, aviles.)

C Geovany Soto
1B Adrián González
2B Chase Utley
3B Hank Blalock
SS J.J. Hardy
LF Ryan Ludwick
CF Shane Victorino
RF Jay Bruce
Util Elvis Andrus
BN Mike Aviles
DL Vladimir Guerrero
DL Álex Rodríguez

SP Johan Santana
SP CC Sabathia
SP Matt Cain
RP Mariano Rivera
RP José Valverde
P Frank Francisco
P Mike González
P Manuel Corpas
BN Erik Bedard
BN James Shields
BN Huston Street
BN Scott Baker
DL Joel Zumaya

Hafner might be a nice add for you. Aviles might be the most droppable.

i agree that aviles is the most droppable. i like cameron or hafner out of the choices. you could sit victorino for one of them until he starts to show signs of life.

Stewart of Hafner would be the two guys I would look at. Stewart is forcing Colorado to find him at bats. Its only a matter of time before he is playing full time and putting up some incredible numbers. Brandon Wood is an interesting guy to look at if you don't need immediate help.

I would start by grabbing Hafner. He seems to have turned himself around and is back to what we expect from Hafner. Plus, Cleveland can score a ton or runs with that offense. I'd drop Street. He's been awful since last year.

I think I would be tempted to drop aviles, pick up fukudome ride his hot streak and see where it goes and then pick up hafner when he cools off. I mean look at the lineup around fukudome.......
A. Soriano lf
K. Fukudome cf-rf
D. Lee 1b
A. Ramirez 3b

I see a lot of upside there. compared to:
G. Sizemore cf
M. DeRosa 3b
V. Martinez c
T. Hafner dh

I am honestly surprised I am the only one who stated this...... unless people are just reading other peoples posts and joining the bandwagon.

Frankly...I don't see why I can't do both. I'm dropping street - and see little use in hanging onto baker other for value purposes; my starting pitching is, as the kids say, the bees-knees.
I might wind up dropping street, baker and aviles before too long - just to free myself from attatchments, and keep mself open to adding whoever else comes along.
