Too much for Hanley????

Postby Elsy » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:11 pm

been offered this:

get - Hanley, Erik Bedard, John Lackey, Bronson Arroyo

give - Longoria, Pedroia, Drew

Yes it solidifies my SP but replacing Hill with Pedroia(which I don't mind) but then Rolen in place for Longoria and Hanley in for Drew(obviously) , I think it still too much to give for not enough in return, thoughts? Would prolly drop either Doug Davis, Jarrod Washburn, Pedro(prolly not signing for a while

Roster:
C - J. Mauer(DL)/J. Varitek
1B - A. Gonzalez
2B - D. Pedroia
SS - S. Drew
3B - E. Longoria
OF - C. Lee/M. Kemp/A. Lind
Util - A. Hill/V. Wells
BN - C. Dickerson/D. Murphy/M. Aviles/S. Rolen

SP - R. Halladay/J. Beckett/R. Romero/D. Purcey/J. Washburn/D. Cabrera/P. Martinez/T. Hudson(DL)/S. Marcum(DL)/D. Davis
RP - BJ Ryan/Brad Ziegler/S. Downs/T. Percival/R. Belisario

Yeah you are better off with what you have. Drew will be fine this season at SS, no need to panic. Lackey is a gigantic question mark and Arroyo is a WW guy, really.

Bedard is looking excellent, but the dropoff from Longoria to rolen is so unfathomably immense I would not make this deal. Def look else where. And to top it all off you lose the reigning MVP too? NO WAY. Drew is going to be good and a month from now you'll be happy you didn;t trade him.

Help?

Just one more thing. You are basically going from Pedroia/Drew/Longoria to Aviles/Hanley/Rolen -- all so you can add Erik Bedard?

No, don't make that trade. Look elsewhere for a deal.

Actually it would be Aaron Hill over Mike Aviles in there but I know what you mean. If I can somehow take Longoria out put Rolen in and then remove either Lackey or Arroyo make it a better deal?

I would do the Hanley, Lackey, Bedard for Pedroia, Drew and Rolen. This is great value for you. and I like Hill as much as Pedroia this year.

Take it and dont look back.
