Are any of these an upgrade? WHIR

Postby tdmel30 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 3:23 pm

10 team, NL-only, 4x4, keeper. $260 auction cap with a $185 keeper cap. Keeper values based on previous years performance. 11 hitters, 9 pitchers, no bench.

I'm looking at shoring up a few spots in my lineup and am wondering if should try to upgrade or ride out what I've got. I don't want to drop a guy who may end up turning it around for a guy who is playing over his head right now. I'm looking at middle infield and outfield. Here is my lineup.

C - McCann
1B - D. Lee
2B - Burriss - Starting to look a little better in the #2 hole
SS - J. Wilson
3B - Cantu
CI - N. Johnson
MI - Renteria - Ready to bail on him, but WW is pretty bare
OF - Dunn, Kemp, Winn, Spilborghs

Winn and Spilborghs are slumping now, but could fill multiple categories if they turn it around.

Here are the options:
MI -
Keppinger - really short list. There is no one else even worth mentioning.

OF -
Fukudome - will this last all season or tank like last year
Morgan - Will he keep it up and stay in the lineup? I need power more than SB's
D. Murphy
Church
S. Hairston

I'm really skeptical of any of these being a long term improvment. Would love your opinions. Leave a link and I'll try and get back to you shortly.

I think Fukudome i think would be an upgrade over Winn. I think he might just be able to keep it up. I also like what Morgan is doing, but your right he isn't going to give you any power.

Fukodome is DEFINTELY worht a roster spot right now in all formats, let alone NL only. Also, I'm not high on Burriss, and Jack Wilson is pathetic so uyou'd defintely want to try and upgrade there.

Help?

Thanks for the response, but I'm not sure if you really answered my question. I understand Fukudome should probably be on a roster now. But, he got off to a fast start last year too and totally tanked after that. And who does he replace? Winn? Spilborghs? I'd say all three could put up very similar stats over the course of the season. We don't have bench players so it would have to be one of those 2 he replaces.

Also, Burriss is hitting well after moving up in the lineup. And Wilson is hitting well so far. Renteria is the one killing me and the WW is basically empty. How do I replace all of them when there are no options?
