Use #1 Waiver Spot on Jay Bruce?

Postby FFChamp » Tue Apr 21, 2009 12:31 pm

I'm in a 10 team head to head league with normal scoring plus triples and complete games. Here's my team:

C: Mike Napoli
1B: Derrek Lee
2B: Alexei Ramirez
3B: Ryan Zimmerman
SS: Jimmy Rollins
IF: Adrien Beltre
OF: Grady Sizemore
OF: Ryan Braun
OF: Alfonso Soriano
UT: Carlos Quentin
Bench: Torii Hunter, Paul Konerko, Emilio Bonifacio, Matt Wieters

P: Brandon Webb
P: Jake Peavy
P: Scott Kazmir
P: Zack Greinke
P: Joe Saunders
P: Kerry Wood
P: Trevor Hoffman
Bench: Troy Percival, George Sherrill, Mike Pelfrey, David Price

So far I've held off on using my waiver spot for Hoffman and Price, but they ended up clearing waivers so I got them anyway. I don't think that Bruce will make it through, and I think he's going to have a real good year. As my team is right now, I wouldn't be able to play him, but I am about to trade Soriano and Kazmir for Pujols. With Peavy, Webb, Greinke, and Saunders/Pelfrey until David Price is called up, I think I can afford to lose Kazmir to get Pujols, especially when I would be replacing Soriano with Torii Hunter and Jay Bruce. The other good thing about the trade is that I'm going to have to make some room for Webb and Hoffman when they come off the DL so the 2 for 1 helps that too.

So, what do you think? Trade Soriano and Kazmir for Pujols? Then, use my #1 waiver spot to drop Bonifacio for Bruce?

Sounds good to me.

Bruce, go for it. You can always dump one of those useless RP that you have.
