BJ Upton and Ziegler for Carlos Lee and Volquez

Postby metsfan12 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 9:47 am

I would be getting BJ. My team is pretty good but I am short in steals and saves and this would help with both. Is this a fair trade value wise or am I giving up too much with Volquez's potential to be great? Should I try Lee and Galarraga first or is that too weak of an offer?

Ithink giving up Lee and Volquez is far far too much.

Ziegler is playing for the A's and the saves opportunities he gets are limited. As far as Upton for Lee, that trade is not even close to even. Lee will have a better ave, more hr's & rbis. If total bases is a category, you also will lose in that area. Plus, Volquez, while eratic at times is a K machine.

I think the trade would be a huge mistake.

You'd be gaining SB, SV.

But losing HR, AVG, RBI, W, K.

Don't do it.

Ziegler may be temporary and Upton just hurt himself again...stay away.

If you need steals Upton is your guy. The other poster mentioned that he "hurt himself again," he merely felt some tightness in his quad, it is not serious at all. Ziegler has pitched very well and Joey Devine will not be returning anytime soon, (seeing Dr. Andrews is never a good thing.) I think if these players address your teams needs you should make the trade.

That is exactly what I am looking to do. The guy turned it down with Galarraga instead of Volquez. Not sure what you guys are talking about with Lee vs Upton. They are about even and if anything Upton goes before Lee on most rankings.
