I am in a 12 team Roto Keeper league in it's 1st season
I recently had a trade in the works My BJ Upton/JJ Hardy/Jay Bruce for Mike Fontenot/Scott Rolen/Colby Rasmus (See my sig for full team)
With Alex Gordon on the DL I needed another 3B, I know it looks like I am giving up alot in the deal.
I did put out a message stating I was looking to trade BJ Upton for a 3B, the league Commisioner offered Justin Upton for BJ Upton straight across, which in my case I do have quite abit of young OF and don't need more (BJ Upton/Torii Hunter/Jay Bruce/Jeremy Hermida/Chris Young/Mark Teahen/Andre Either, plus Matt Laporta in my minors)
After the veto now I am getting offers for Upton for players like Felipe Lopez and Mike Cameron
I know it looks that way, but if I keep Upton next season he will cost me $40 towards next seasons draft ($260 cap) and the only other option on waivers at 3B is Josh Fields.
well with Alex Gordon as my 3B and injured I do have a hole at 3B, Miggy doesnt qualify in this league at 3B (also Miggy will cost $52 next season, but holding out closer to trade deadline to see what I can get for him). I know I don't have a contender roster this season, but hate to drop teahen for Fields (Teahen only has OF eligibility)
Alright, first of all you need to stop worrying about the cap right now. You've got plenty of time to deal with that. Then, you need to stop the love affair with CWS pitchers.
Seriously my man, I know it sucks having the injury, but just pick somebody crappy up if you can't get a good deal. No point in making a bad deal right now, this early in the year. If you're already throwing in the towel (which should never be done), then keep your options open for next year.

Definitely. Tons of time, and you can get more in return for BJ without doubt.
It's because they probably wanted Upton at the price you were selling. Thats a bad pattern for leagues to get into with trades, it could lead to every trade being vetoed if there is a valuable player involved. But B.J. could definitely bring in a guy like Zimmerman or Atkins. Maybe even ARam.
