Someone dropped Chien-Ming Wang, and while he's obviously struggled mightily this year, he's still a very good pitcher. I was just wondering: (a) Should I add Wang and keep him on my bench until he puts it back together? (If so, who should I drop?) (b) How is my team overall, and are there any moves I should make?
I am in 8/10 place in a 10 team Keeper League, 5x5 stats. Ideally, I'd probably like to add another closer and maybe improve at 3B from Sandoval/Reynolds.
No, I'd stick with the guys you have. Wang is okay for wins when he's right, but he's only acceptable in era and whip, and a huge liability in strikeouts. I'm not sure he'll get right (he's been so awful, you have to wonder if something more is wrong), and even then he's only okay. (And that's h2h -- in roto, I don't get near him because of the lack of punchouts.) Not worth dropping anyone you have.
Pass. I traded Span for Wang and a draft pick during my draft. Poor choice, obviously, but I was running into Parent/Teacher conferences at the time. Wang has quite literally had the worst start any starter has in years. If he starts pitching better, then go for it, but right now he's nuthin'.
I would definately pass, and from the looks the new Yankees stadium isn't exactly a pitchers haven (but it could be that even with 200 million plus in payrole, they still suck). I never liked Wangs other numbers and I think the wins were just lucky.
