14 teamer, h2h, 5x5 cats

my team:

C Pablo Sandoval
1b Ryan Howard
2b Brandon Phillips
3b Chipper Jones
SS Jose Reyes
OF Torii Hunter
OF Carlos Beltran
OF Bobby Abreu
util Prince fielder
bn michael bourn

SP AJ Burnett
SP Javier Vazquez
RP Brian Wilson
RP Manuel Corpas
P Daisuke Matsuzaka (hurt)
P Justin Verlander
P Clayton Kershaw
bn Ryan Franklin
bn jorge de la rosa
bn john lannan
bn josh outman
bn PJ walters

I'm thinking of packaging Dice-K and Franklin for either a better SP or a better closer.. is that a good idea? Should I hang onto Dice-K or deal him? Outside of that what should I work on/do with my team? currently in 4th place after 2 weeks.

I don't think you'll get much for Dice K or Franklin right now. Dice obviously is hurt and the words "dead" and "arm" should scare off any manager with a lick of sense. Ryan Franklin's not going to get you much either. The dude can have a couple of bad outings and lose his job by next week, making him worthless. I'll give you Andy Sonnanstine for those two. How's that sound?

That's about what I think they're worth right now.

What's up with Outman and Walters? I know everyone likes to have the shiny, new rook come through to show the other guys how smart they are, but I would imagine that there are far better options available on your waiver wire right now.

we have only 3 moves per week and i picked up outman and walters as streams and didn't have any moves to drop them yet. the top FA SP are Joe Blanton and Carl Pavano.. our WW is terrible... which of my players should I move now or should I stick with my team?

If you're streaming pitchers, I'd say it's best to play match ups by the week. Look for guys going against weaker hitting teams or pitching in pitcher's ball parks. That's probably pretty obvious though. With 14 teams, it'll be pretty slim pickings though.

Maybe you're better off going with a couple of quality middle relievers instead of throwing mediocore starters out there.

Your hitting is a lot better than your pitching. I would try to deal Dice K Burnett and Verlander if possible. They all have big names, but I feel they will disappoint. Don't get lowballed though. Point out Dice K's sub-3.000 ERA from last year.

Help mine?
