Hey there, I was wondering if you think its worth taking a waiver claim out for Mark Buehrle? I am going to drop Zach Duke in order to get him. He is pitching pretty well so far and I thought why not give him a look, what do you guys think? As you can see I stockpiled pitching, I like to do this in the beginning of the season so I can see who pans out and who craps out, cutting the guys who don't pull their weight, here is my current staff:
Hamels
Billingsley
K-Rod
Kerry Wood
Anibal Sanchez
Cain
Slowey
Rafael Soriano
Lohse
Trevor Cahill
Zach Duke (will dump him if I get Buehrle)
DL: Dice-K

i think buehrle is one of those 'better in real life' pitchers. his fantasy value only comes through in very deep leagues. he's also a well known name, so theres additinal hype on top of it all. duke may come back down to earth, in which case buehrle would be the better play. but i'm nto sold, and not sure id' want him on your already stacked rotation.

I agree with the point above, and think Buehrle is a better real life pitcher, but that doesn't mean he has no fantasy value...like Zach Duke. Duke is playing for a BAD Triple A team in Pitt and isn't that good a pitcher at that. I would make the change. Buehrle is someone you can run out there and not be affriad he will destroy your ERA...esp when the matchup is right. He will give you a decent WHIP and wins...just don't look for a lot of K's.

Duke for Buehrle is a good swap. I don't think I'd use a waiver claim to do it though (unless your waiver number is really crappy).
