Trade Lowe...but to who? **WHIR**

Postby Da Rook » Mon Apr 20, 2009 2:21 pm

My thought is that my SP can take the hit losing Lowe, but I can use a power bat in my lineup. With that said, I can get a lesser pitcher back in any deal but which one of these hitters should I go after in my 5X5 League and why? (Cat's Avg, HR, RBI, SB, R) Or do I stand pat?

1. Delgado
2. Pena
3. Dunn

My Team
C - Martin
1B - Tex
2B - Roberts
SS - Reyes
3B - Aram
OF - C.Lee, Holiday & Hunter
U - Loney,Fukadome
P - Peavy, C.Lee, Vazquez, Lowe, Meche, Big Unit, Jer.Weaver, Cahill, S.Baker, Loshe, Malholm
RP - Mariano, Valverde
Bench: Lind, Rolen, Weeks, Bonifacio, Span

I like Dunn the best, although it definitely depends on if AVG is a scoring stat. Pena MAY have a little more AVG upside, as does Delgado, but I might still be tempted to go Dunn for a bang on 40HR and position versatility.

I wouldn't make a move, but if you must I rate them Dunn, Pena, Delgado, for power.

It doesn't look like you need much. If you were to make a trade it should be for Dunn. HR's, runs, and RBI's are always good. Unfortunately he kills BA but I think you're team should be able to handle the load.

Hey man, thanks for the help with mine. Let me start off by saying that Tex, Carlos Lee, and obviously A-Rod haven't started hitting for power yet. You should give it some time, once those 3 guys are firing on all cylinders watch out! However if you still think you need to make a move I would look to deal Weeks, Bonaficio, or Cliff Lee/Vazquez/Lowe. Bonaficio is already starting to come back down to earth, but there is still enough buzz surrounding him where he is a good bargaining chip. People always thought Weeks was going to have a breakout year, this season he looks to be putting something together making him valuable especially at the weak 2nd base position, (since you have Roberts Weeks is expendable.) Then look to pacakage either one of these guys with either Cliff Lee, Vazquez, and Lowe and see if you can grab a nice hitter. Personally I think you could make a lesser trade and nab a guy like Votto, Nelson Cruz, Ludwick, or Ethier.

Thanks for mine.... Ya Dunn should be your man.. Holliday, Lind, Roberts should cover some of his BA (although hes hitting real nice now!.. maybe the change in park is helping him closer to .300?) haha

Dunn and Pena about the same in avg. Delgado bout 30 or so higher but probably 10 or 8 less homers.

I'd actually put them in this order given your stat cats: Delgado, Dunn, Pena. If OPS or OBP counted, then Dunn leaps to the head of the bunch, but the fact that Delgado won't kill your average is worth the drop in homers by 10 or so. That said, I'm not sure you need to make a deal. Lowe is pretty much a sure thing (inasmuch as a pitcher can be one) and it makes a ton of sense to keep him given Cliff Lee's struggles. Please realize that this is not a small sample size prediction being made; before the season, I figured he'd regress big time and so far, it seems like he as. That pinpoint control he had last year simply hasn't been there through all of spring and of course, thus far this season.

Thanks for the help on mine.
