Trade Longoria in a keeper?

Postby BSbludolf » Mon Apr 20, 2009 11:17 am

first year 10-team 3-player keeper league.

I lose- Evan Longoria, Matt Kemp, Dan Uggla, and Roy Halladay
I get- Grady Sizemore, Johan Santana, and Brian McCann

Ian Stewart and either Beltre or Lowell are available on the ww for me to pick up to replace Longoria and Uggla. Do I do this deal in a keeper.

I'd say definitely do not do this deal. I don't really think Sizemore is an upgrade over Longoria as a keeper, maybe a little upgrade for this year, but maybe not. Santana is an upgrade over Halladay, but mainly just in the Ks department. Halladay is pretty solid. Kemp was predicted by many to be awesome, and he has been so far this season. He is a much better keeper than McCann. I think if that was the deal, without Uggla included, I'd still rather stick with what you've got. But since you'd be just throwing in Uggla, that makes it a clearly bad deal for you. Not to mention those replacement players aren't so hot for a 10 teamer, and you'd be benching Ianetta, who will be just fine this year.
