H2H; Pedroia and Verlander for Ichiro

Pedroia and Verlander for Ichiro??

Seems very tempting but I am concerned about giving up solid consistent points each week that I would get from Ichiro.

Certainly an upgrade at 2nd base from Polanco, and certainly an downgrade by losing Ichiro and activating Mark Teahen, but then again, OF are far easier to come by as free agents.

Verlander would be an upgrade for my staff, but then again, which Verlander.. 2007 or 2008 will appear.

Any thoughts???

I would definitely take this deal, Pedroia is the best player in the deal and you're getting an above average pitcher (when he's right) as a kicker. I do it.

How is this a big downgrade? The only thing you will really lose from losing Ichiro is stolen bases. Pedroia will put up more power numbers, score just as many runs, hit for just as much average, drive in just as many if not more runs and will have a better OBP and Pedroia will probably steal around 20 bases which isn't that bad. He also plays for a better team.

Verlander will be average this year, don't expect too much from him.
