This situation freaks me out since I had a similar situation. I woke up one day and had blurry vision and dryness in my left eye. I went to the ER and they had no idea what was wrong. I went to my Doctor and he had no idea what the problem was. Finally got an appointment with an opthalmologist (sp??) and he tells me I have macular degeneration and there is no cure. He tells me it is common with people in their 70's but it is rare in people 30 years old. Long story short, after 12 injections directly into the eyeball and 3 laser surgeries to seal the blood vessels in the eye, I cant even play catch. I hope for his sake this isnt the case.
Brian McCann was fitted with a new contact for his left eye when he visited an eye specialist in Washington Tuesday morning, and he was back in the Braves lineup for Tuesday night.

thank the universal laws of destiny! I was seriously contemplating using Pierzinksy at C, im not sure how McCann will do coming back, but just knowing he's in the starting lineup is good enough to give him a shot over AJ (though he is playing in baltimore today)

It’s very likely that McCann is going on DL tomorrow, and he made it sound like he’s decided to have the surgery. He wants to get this squared away now, he said, miss a couple of weeks and get back, rather than keep trying to fix it with contacts, etc. Sammons has been called from Gwinnett. Again, it’s not definite yet, but sounds pretty close to definite. As Bobby said, he didn’t anticipate anything changing overnight. McCann sounds like, in his mind, he’s already decided to have Lasik.
After being bothered for two weeks by blurred vision in his left eye, Braves catcher Brian McCann was placed on the 15-day DL Saturday, retroactive to Thursday.
