Disregard Verlander in my sig, but I've been offered this trade:

I give: Damon/Scott Baker

I get: Verlander

Should I take the trade? First of all this is a weekly league so I think there is a premium on solid SPing. My pitching should be better than they've started and I will be getting Ervin back soon. Verlander looked amazing on Friday night aside from that terrible 5th inning. I'm leaning against accepting it because I think Baker will be solid. What should I do?

I like Verlander, actually I think he's underrated (read my Hot/Cold column *wink wink*). The fact it's a keeper makes this trade more tolerable although I think Damon is more than useful and I'd see if Baker shakes off the rust (and hopefully that shoulder stays intact). I'd probably stand pat though I think it's a good time to target Verlander.

I don't think you should accept the offer. Damon is in a contract year and Baker's stock is way down right now (a trip to the DL followed by a shaky first start) and with that said I think your giving up too much.

Thanks AD, that's about what I think as well. I've verbally countered with Davies and Damon. Would that be better?
