10 team roto league. Is it worth giving up a bit to upgrade from Nolasco to Lester? This is a 3 player keeper league. Right now my three keepers would be Sizemore, Hamilton, Longoria (i.e., my first three picks).
Let me know if you like any of these trade scenarios.
TRADE 1 GIVE - Hamilton/Nolasco GET - Quentin/Lester Although, I'd be giving up one of my keepers, Quentin might very well be a keeper in his own right if he continues to impress and stays healthy.
TRADE 2GIVE - Nolasco and Percival GET - Lester I'd be giving up a closer (probably can't afford to) and gambling that Ray takes over for Sherrill at some point to fill the void.
MY TEAM C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-O.Cabrera 3b-Longoria CI-Reynolds MI-Alx.Ramirez OF-Sizemore, Hazmilton, V.Wells, Dye, Ad. Jones Util-Crisp SP-Gallardo, Greinke, Nolasco, Lilly, R.Johnson RP-Broxton, Qualls, Morrow, Percival, Arredondo, Ray, C.Perez DL-*Smoltz *Also, considering using my No. 4 waiver claim on Jose Lopez, to upgrade my MI slot.

i dont know i like nolasco id keep what you have... definitely keep the great hambino..i think lester is kind of overrated, but then again i dont deal with red sox players at all due to my hate for them
out of those deals...I'd go with #2. Percival is a gamble to stay healthy from day to day so its essentially Lester for Nolasco in my mind. However, I'm not sure that Lester is a pure upgrade. Nolasco is pretty good in his own right.
I would agree with poster above. i think at this point we can say both nolasco and lester are around the same level. We just have to look at the teams that can provide them with most run support therefore giving them better chances to win games. I would probably go with lester here purely on the basis that red sox can win more games for their pitchers.

I watched Lester pitch today and was very impressed. He has tremendous control and more velocity then I thought (was hitting 95 on the gun with his fastball). I'm also thinking he'll have the opportunity to win more games pitching for the Red Sox. So you're not convinced he's an upgrade?
