Use No. 4 Waiver Claim on Jose Lopez?

Postby jmcampbe11 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 3:24 pm

Should I use the No. 4 waiver claim on Jose Lopez? I'd be dropping Chris Perez short-term and Orlando Cabrera long-term (once Alexei gains SS eligibility). 10 team roto league for context.

...and here is my offense.

C-Martin 1b-A.Gonzalez 2b-Phillips ss-O.Cabrera 3b-Longoria CI-Reynolds MI-Alx.Ramirez OF-Sizemore, Hazmilton, V.Wells, Dye, Ad. Jones Util-Crisp

Jose is a beast, I'd do it. Someone will be kicking themselves later on in the season for dropping him.

thanks for the help on mine

as for your situation, it's kind of tricky, because Lopez should be owned in all leagues, however, I wouldn't play Lopez over either Brandon Phillips or Alexei Ramirez (once he gains eligibility), so while I think he's definitely worth a pick up, I think you'd be wasting your no. 4 waiver claim. Is your league a trade happy league. If so, then maybe pick him up and accept offers for him.

hope this helps

I'd actually be playing him over O.Cabrera (who I'd drop) now that Alexei is SS eligible. Change anything?
