Trade Zambrano for Broxton?

Postby sox 06 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 11:23 am

I've been offered Jonathan Broxton for Carlos Zambrano, should I accept or reject it? I could use a solid closer because mine (Sherrill, Gregg) are pretty shaky. Would I be paying too much for Broxton?

I would accept it. There's a likely chance that niether one of your closers will be closers after the AS break.

Plus, I think Broxton is more durrable and reliable than Big Z. (As much as it pains me to say it as a Cubs fan...)

Take the deal.

i would do it, with such a short bench your league should have solid WW options all year, making zambrano more easliy replaceable...thanks for answering mine

Thanks for your help with mine. I think you can get more than Broxton for Zambrano. You should be able to get Broxton and maybe a high upside SP. I would try to counter with something. Broxton is good, but Zambrano has a great name as a SP and people will value him relatively highly. You need a closer but wait for the right deal or FA pickup

This would probably be a good trade off for you, Broxton could really help to solidify your closers. Go for it.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to take the trade because I think my SP is alright without Zambrano and I feel that I need a closer.

You have already done this, but I wouldnt do it if I were you. if given another opportunity. Zambrano is worth alot more, and losing the saves category once in awhile wouldnt hurt. But you did it, so not much this will help.

Good Luck
