Use #7 waiver on JJ Hardy?

Postby TeamMikeDeveraux » Sun Apr 19, 2009 9:26 am

Hey guys,
I dont really need a SS, but value is value.
1. Should I use my 7 waiver on him?
2. Should I pick him up if he clears waivers?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't use a waiver on him but if he clears then I would add Hardy for sure. I would drop Wang.

Some help please?

I agree. With no MI spot, JJ doesn't give you much value outside of a few spot starts. You only get value for him if you play him or can trade him, so it's not worth your waiver. That being said, Wang has nothing but negative value, so might as well make the change if he clears.

I might use the waiver, depending on other teams' need for a ss (trade bait..?)

#7 is not that high... but it is getting to the point where, given your need (or lack thereof) for this oparticular player, that I might not use the waiver.

I think the best would be to wait for him to clear, which I think he will, and then grab him.

If he doesn't clear, you didn't lose a dead cert... just a good *chance*...

Frankly, I probably would use the #7. Its not high enough that you can save it for a sure thing (unless a bunch of guys ahead of you burn through their priorities) so chances are you'll either sit on it, or use it on someone much less valuable than hardy. In a 12 team league, hardy is likley going to be better then atleast a few teams best option at short, so he'd make a nice trade piece....or allow you to deal tulo if a trade came along that made sense.
