Use #2 waiver on Kerry Wood? (WHIR)

Postby PointNo1 » Sat Apr 18, 2009 3:21 pm

Yahoo 12-team Head-to-Head (6x6 stats with OPS and HOLDS)

So an owner just dropped Kerry Wood in order to pick up Ryan Franklin...Go Figure...

Do I grab Wood from the waiver wire (#2 waiver). I do have 5 closers already now that Corpas and Marmol have been named closer for their teams. The only thing holding me back is the quality of players that the people in my league drop. Already, Ryan Zimmerman and Justin Verlander were also dropped. Point being, maybe someone will drop David Wright next lol. I couldnt get either of them. But anyway now i have #2 waiver, should i claim Wood? If i do, then i would definitely try to turn around and trade one. Maybe BJ Ryan while he still has some value. I was thinking maybe BJ Ryan for Chris Carpenter, but i dont know...both have big up/downsides.

You have to claim Wood (or at least try to). And sound strategy on trying to flip one of your closers for an upgrade elsewhere if you do.

Can you return the favor plz?

I would claim Wood here and look to trade a closer.

I would do it. Wood and the Indians will be better than some of those other closers you have with their teams.

Please help....

Well, looks like Marmol isnt going to be closing just yet.

So what kind of solid SP can i land in a trade for a closer, say B.J. Ryan or Kerry Wood (if i get him?)
