Gallardo/Alexei for Dye/Tulowitzki *WHIR*

Postby michaelyoung4prez » Sat Apr 18, 2009 1:44 pm

That is the deal. I need the HR's and RBI badly. I don't like Alexei batting 8th and also wiffing so much. My pitching is deep but lost Webb and Carp for a bit. Should I make the deal?

Thanks, leave a link ;-D

I don't like this deal. I consider Tulo and Ramirez equals. Gallardo for Dye is fair, but you're not in the position to trade pitching away as far as I'm concerned. Plus, I'm sure you can find someone in the league drooling over Gallardo's upside that would be willing to give you more.

I agree with the post ahead of me. You need the hitting more. You can probably float for a bit if you do the trade until Webb and Carpenter get back into form.

Thanks for the posts. Alexei is opening the season in the 8th spot and playing like he wants to be sent down to the minors. Tulo is def outplaying him thus far and I like his spot in the lineup plus his ballpark more. I like Gallardo, Fort Worth guy, but my pitching is kind of redonk and when Webb comes back it will be crowded again, I feel that I need the offense more here.

More thoughts...

This looks like a good, fair deal for you. With 7 solid SP options after the trade, I think you'll be in fine shape. Honestly don't think ARam will be in the 8-hole for much longer, but also didn't think the Nationals would send Milledge to AAA....

I'd do it!

New offer proposed to me:

Gallardo/Upton for Victorino/Dye/Tulo

Thoughts?

took it. i like it too, upton is injury prone, it will be nice to have a stud SS and more power and probably more speed with victorino, or at least about the same as upton minus homers but better average. Also i can use Alexei as a fill in at 3 different positions and not everyday since he has been horrible
