Soto Dropped?!?!?! Use #1 Waiver?

Postby Raider704 » Sat Apr 18, 2009 12:55 pm

Yeah, the owner does have VMart(1B) and Russel Martin(3B) as well, but dropping Soto is pretty bad. Should I use my #1 priority to grab him? I already have Iannetta and Weiters. I'm not going to keep 3 catchers on my roster, so is it worth dropping one of these guys for Soto?

WHIR

EDIT: Who would you rather drop, Iannetta or Weiters?

Would you guys rather drop Iannetta or Weiters? I should've made that more clear in my OP

is there anyone else you could drop? it would be nice to have a bunch of catchers as trade bait, so you can prey on the team who is weak at C

Soto? Yes, use your #1.
As for who to drop, I think it depends on how knowledgeable your league is. If they follow the up and comers and are paying attention to the minors, Wieters might have more value to you down the line whenever he gets called up. If you're in a league full of people who don't look beyond the here and now, keep the player who is active, and when Wieters gets called up, decide then what to do.
Good luck!

I'd probably drop Wieters. You might get lucky and get him back. Plus, I read he just got hurt last night. Not sure yet how serious. Iannetta will come around and is getting FT right now so I'd stick with him.

I think I might drop Wang if he does poorly against Cleveland today.

But the thought of carrying 3 catchers... :*)

I'd drop Wieters and definitely use the claim. Soto becomes your best catcher and Ianetta is a great option as well

I'd certainly use the waiver priority on soto...thats what its for - to take advantage of someone's big mistake or lack of patience early on.
As to who to drop --- I'd keep weiters over ianetta as a second catcher....if you do wind up with three, I'd get to work pronto on trying to trade one. Without deep deep benches, having 3 catchers is kinda silly.

help with mine?
