Should I do it? I already have Morneau at 1B with a fairly stacked OF and Ortiz. I was thinking of maybe replacing Delgado with another player and trying to swing something that way. The only other players on his team I like are:
Hunter Pence Felix Hernandez Scott Kazmir
Is it worth it to add one and offer a new deal, or should I just take what he's proposed and run.
Here's my team:
10 Team H2H Keeper League, 6x6 Cats (Extras are HLD and OBP)
C Ryan Doumit 1B Justin Morneau 2B Brandon Phillips 3B Aramis Ramirez SS Stephen Drew OF Adam Dunn OF Adam Jones OF Jermaine Dye Util Lance Berkman Util David Ortiz Bench Andre Ethier Bench Travis Snider (soon to be dropping for a P) Bench Adam Lind
SP Roy Halladay SP Chad Billingsley SP Josh Johnson RP Frank Francisco RP Troy Percival P George Sherrill P Ryan Madsen P Duaner Sanchez Bench Zack Greinke Bench Wandy Rodriguez Bench Brett Myers Bench Jair Jurrjens DL Trevor Hoffman

Ortiz is not going to have a good year, trust me on that one. Nathan is light years ahead of Sherrill for closers, and Delgado is looking to have a big time power year. I think I would make this deal, but keep in mind you are trading the best player involved (by a lot), and Lance is going to stop slumping soon and be a monster. I think Delgado will pick up some of the slack though, and you could use the stud closer.
If do end up expanding on the deal, I can tell you I like all the guys you have listed there better than Ortiz.
no way. you should not do this. berkman is much better than delgado. and sherrill could end up with 35 saves easily, nathan should get 40. so you'd be giving berkman for delgado and 5 saves. bad deal.
So then what can I do to make the deal worth my while, if you're assuming that George Sherrill maintains his closer status for the entire league and doesn't lose it to Ray or someone else? Should I replace Delgado to make it more fair in giving up Berkman?
I shot him a note and he re-offered with Nathan/Pence for Berkman/Sherrill. I'm thinking it might still not be enough. Maybe I should replace Berkman with someone?
yes, do that. I would sit tight with Berkman. maybe give him one of your OFs instead of Berkman? Nathan is not that Nathan of old in my opinion, just becaust the Twins are not as good as they once were. I still think he's better than Sherril though, and Nathan isnt gonna lose his job any time soon. re work the deal a bit.
