Aaron Hill or Jayson Werth?

Postby the dresden » Fri Apr 17, 2009 9:55 pm

10 team H2H league, and here's my offense:

C - Soto
1B - Morneau
2B - Utley
SS - H. Ramirez
3B - Blalock
IF - Dunn
OF - Ethier, Markakis, Werth
Util - Ortiz
Bench - Aviles, Teahen

I was thinking about grabbing Hill for the IF spot and moving Dunn to one of the OF positions, which would mean I'd have to bench one of my current OFs. Of the bunch I'd bench Werth, but I'm wondering if adding Hill would be worth it, overall.

Thoughts? The kid's on a tear right now, but Werth's hitting after the Phillies' big bats and could knock in quite a few runs from that slot.

I probably would grab him but I am not sure I would start him. Just nice insurance.

Who would you be giving up? If you can add Hill without losing anyone, I'd definitely take him while he's hot. However, I'd probably still start Werth. Gotta be patient with players and teams at the start of the year. Look at Hill's overall numbers. Chances are he doesn't stay this hot.

I'd either drop Aviles or Teahen, though if Marmol keeps getting the save opportunities for the Cubs I could always cut Gregg loose since I have him as one of my RP. I took Aviles and Teahen in the final rounds for their position eligibility, as between them I have 2B, SS, 3B, 1B and OF covered.

Hill or Aviles?

Who would you rather have on your bench?
