I read somewhere that he is a Cliff Lee candidate this year. I can't remember the website now, but it basically evaluated all the factors that applied to Cliff Lee before last year and observed that it could either be Kevin Millwood or some other schmo.

Is anyone believing Millwood's early success?

Contract year...look at his #'s the year before he signed with the Rangers....Filthy! Also, Ron Washington already said he's going to let him pitch until his arm falls off, so Milwood better get it together bc the Rangers clearly have no intent of keeping him!

I don't expect 2008 Cliff Lee numbers out of him but I am kicking myself because I could have had him for a song in our AL only draft. I hummed and hawed all spring about him but he was getting pounded in spring training games. However, I knew that he put up very good numbers the last time he was in a contract year so I expected a decent year out of him. I also expect Texas won't be competitive with their rotation the way it stands now so I would think that Millwood will be prime trade bait come July. At that time we'll see the real future with Holland and Feliz in the rotation for the last few months of 09.

not quite a contract year. he has an innings pitched clause in his contract that creates an option for next year
and im not sure where you are getting that washington said that ive never heard him say that.
i can say that nolan has mandated all pitchers try to pitch deeper into games
