Which Blockbuster Deal?

Postby plainyogurt » Fri Apr 17, 2009 5:34 pm

This is a lot, so bare with me. Need some other point of views before/if to go forward with this::

My SP lost Dice and Carp with Escobar on DL.. I'm talking to two managers. Both of them need Mi and a bat... I really like my power, but think I need a SP, closer, speed to finish it out...I do not want to trade Miggy, but understand I can get most back from himi.. Here are some trades I'm thinking of and my roster.. Asking for insight on what I really should offer..
.
Manager 1: I would try to get Johan, Soria and theriot or bourne
Manager 2: I would try to get Oswalt or liriano, and Reyes or Beltran

5x5 standard league.

SP: Matsusaka, Wainwright, Kershaw, Lilly, Escobar, just picked up Wang
Rp: Valverde, Fuentes, rodney, villenueva
C: Y. Molina ,
1st: Miguel Cabrera,
2nd: Hill
3rd: Youkilis,
SS:Tulowitzki,
MI:Orlando Cabrera
CI:Berkman
Util: Fielder
Of: Elsbury, Dunn, nelson Cruz, Span, vladdy

Bench: polanco, Alexie ramirez, Duncan, gomez

I feel like I have good CI and MI Depth..Question is, Which deal do you think is better for me? and if so, should I start out the trade talk with Miggy??Reall don't want to trade him...Would a Fielder or Berkman combined with 2 of my 5 MI's be enough to get one of those deals??
Should I just stand pat, be happy with depth and wait??? Now Vladdy is on DL...should i just look at WW for good pitching matchups?

Help me out...Thanks a TON!!!!!!

P.S. Manager 1 also has V mart

i think w/ your injuries you are better off staying put early on and not panicking just yet...just my opinion, but i wouldn't trade your best player to try to fill holes b/c of these injuries...

just my two cents

I think your combo might be enough for the 1st deal (manager 1), but not enough for the 2nd (if reyes is included). I would hold onto Miggy. I think he will have a great season...another option would be to hold tight for a lil. Dice-k will be back soon, but I would try and sell him. I don't think he'll have a good season. I would prob stay still for h2h as you only have to make the playoffs, but for roto...once u are down, it's hard to catch up...

I think I would look at deal one of the two. Though it might be in your best interest to give your team a chance before you shake things up to much. At the very least I would look to move one of your other 1B and keep Miggy. I would also look at getting some SP that some owners might be freaking out about like Shields or Linc. I would be very selective doing this but would be more likely to get a deal than giving up your best player. Last thing you would want it is to trade Miggy and than read that Santana went down with an injury.
