Paul Maholm seems to be getting better with time. His second half spurt of a sub-4 ERA last year seems to be continuing into this year. He has pitched deep into games with great control resulting in a WHIP under 1. So, at what point do you begin starting him on a regular basis? Is 2 games of great outing a good enough omen to start a pitcher? 3? 4? Where do you start before realize you're wasting great outings on your bench?
I am strongly considering starting him tommorow at home against Jair Jurrijens and the Braves. They have had a solid offense at best to start the season, and do not steal many bases. Is anyone else going to start him? Am I making a bad choice? Because, in my opinion, Maholm is going to follow up his career year last year, with a career year this year.
