Is Valverde droppable??? WHIR...

Postby woowoo crew » Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:45 pm

Houston is struggling, so Valverde isn't getting many opportunities. Plus, he's hurt now... didn't get the save today. I've tried offering him up in a combo trade offer with Magglio Ordonez... no takers. He is on my bench now, as I'm starting Broxton, Papelbon, and Morrow. Is he droppable? Should I hang onto him and keep trying to trade him?

Available starters:
Millwood, Chris Young, Volstad, Harang, Lilly, Jimenez, Saunders, Meche, Weaver, Cueto, Brett Myers, Slowey, Floyd, Parra

Available relievers:
Corpas, Downs, Lindstrom, Porcello

We start 2 SP, 2 RP, and 3 P each week. (Weekly changes, not daily.)
C: McCann
1B: Konerko
2B: Cano
SS: Reyes
3B: Freese
IF: Encarnacion
OF: Ethier, Jennings, Willingham, Quentin
UTIL: Freeman
BN: De Aza, Pagan, Aviles
DL: Ellsbury
P: Felix, Price, Buchholz, Lynne, J. Johnson, Wandy, Valverde, Jansen, Chapman, Betancourt

Not wise to drop him after not getting the first save opp. Noone in that pen is a threat to his job when he's healthy. Be patient.

I wouldn't want to drop him, but it would be tough for me because I'd love to have Volstad, Harang, Young...

Don't drop him just yet, but drop somebody and find room for Volstad, he is in store for a big year... great stuff. Thanx for the help on mine.

NO!

Someone will scoop him right up if you do that. Patience, good sir.

Post your roster though..I have to think you would have someone to drop to add one of those pitchers.

My roster:
C: Iannetta
1B: Morneau
2B: Kinsler
3B: Chris Davis
SS: Alexei
OF: Hamilton, Granderson, Cruz
UTIL: Pence
Bench: Beltre, Magglio, Jose Lopez, Sandoval
SP: Halladay, Hernandez
RP: Papelbon, Broxton
P: Verlander, J. Sanchez, Morrow
Bench: Valverde
DL: Baker
*** Baker is off DL now, so to use him, I'll have to drop Beltre I'm thinking. Not sure who else I should drop for one of the pitchers mentioned above. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

actually since baker is back i'd drop sanchez

then pickup corpas for lopez.

then trade corpas and something for upgrade in batting average. i dont think u'll do too hot in BA this yr with that lineup unless magglio goes off
