The Astros used Hawkins for the save. Valverde thew 16 pitches yesterday and didn't pitch the previous 2 days. What's the deal?

Is see Hawkins got the save tonight. Anyone have any info regarding Valverdes status. Is Hawkins a decent pick up?

He got hit on the shin (bruised) by a ball off the bat of Orlando Hudson and then strained his calf fielding the ball. He will more than likely miss Thursday (according to his manager). He will then be re-evaluated to see if he will be able to pitch in the weekend series.
