A-Gon for Cain and Ellsbury (or add more for Soto?) WHIR

Postby plapre3 » Thu Apr 16, 2009 1:25 pm

I was just offered 2 deals from the same guy. In the deal I get a pitcher, whom I think I badly need.

1) Adrian Gonzalez for Jacoby Ellsbury and Matt Cain
2) Adrian Gonzalez, Matt LaPorta, and Bengie Molina for Matt Cain, Geovanny Soto, and Conor Jackson
--------
3) I think I like the idea of getting Soto better, and I'm thinking he'll take out LaPorta and Jackson:
Adrian Gonzalez and Benjie Molina for Matt Cain and Geovanny Soto.

My team:
C Bengie Molina
1B Adrian Gonzalez
2B Mark DeRosa
SS Michael Young
3B Garret Atkins
OF Carlos Beltran
OF Corey Hart
OF Adam Dunn (1B Eligible)
UT Jayson Werth
Bench: Mike Napoli, Billy Butler, Aaron Hill, Ryan Theriot, Johnny Damon, Colby Rasmus (still eligible for minors)

SP (Start 5) Johan Santana, Chris Young, Kevin Slowey, Wandy Rodriguez, Oliver Perez
RP (Start 3) Joe Nathan, Joakim Soria, Heath Bell
Bench: Mark Buehrle, Paul Maholm, Jamie Moyer

Minor Leaguers: Matt LaPorta (1B-Cle), Neftali Feliz (SP-Tex), Derek Holland (SP-Tex), Josh Vitters (3B-ChiNL), Michael Bowden (SP-Bos)

6x6 weekly HtH 14 team roto keeper (between 5 and 10 keepers (no time limits or costs), losing a draft pick for each after 5)
Offensive Categories: BA, OPS, RBI, HR, SB and Runs Scored.
Pitching Categories: W, S, ERA, K/IP, Quality Starts minus Losses, and WHIP
Minors: 5 "free" keepers. These players if are eligible to be kept without the loss of a draft pick and in addition to the max of 10. They must have under 200 Ab or less than 75 IP and 20 APP.

Waiver Wire:
C - Nick Hundley, Jeff Clement, John Baker
1B - Mike Jabobs, Chad Tracy, Lyle Overbay, Travis Ishikawa
2B - Mike Fontenot, Asdrubal Cabrera, Alexi Casilla, Skip Schumaker (after 12 games), Mark Ellis
SS - Erik Aybar, Jason Bartlett
3B - David Freese, Dallas McPherson, Russel Branyan, Joe Crede, Ty Wigginton
OF - Michael Cuddyer, Brian Giles, Felix Pie, Cody Ross, Randy Winn, Aaron Rowand, Skip Schumaker, Travis Buck, Ryan Sweeney, Matt Joyce
SP - Nick Blackburn, Dave Bush, Shairon Martis, Doug Davis, Kevin Millwood, Koji Uehara, Tim Wakefield, Jeff Suppan, Jorge De La Rosa, Daniel Cabrera, Jose Contreras, Cha Seung Baek, Kevin Correia, Ross Ohlendorf, Aaron Poreda, Vicente Padilla
RP - David Aardsma, Roy Corcoran, J.P. Howell, Taylor Buchholz (DL), Jose Ceda (I'm thinking he's a great fantasy prospect, closer in '10)

Thank you all in advance and as always, leave a link.

Yeah, I'd do option 3 if he'll go for it.

Also, pick up Fontenot since you'll probably start him over DeRosa and is Kyle Davies on FA? If so, pick him up too.

Thanks for helping me.

I'm not sure I like the third offer any better than the first. Either way you are banking on Cain becoming a top line starter.
